After about 9 months of struggling with Vista, bought with the current laptop I use, I backed up my data and wiped the disk and installed XP Pro.

I have never had any problems with Vista or XP Pro, I always update the hardware and software when new hardware and software I use becomes available.

When I was younger I remember I was always told a good workmen should never blame his tools. I have in the past had experienced of people who have problems with computers, computer hardware and software it is usually down to their lack of knowledge of the products they are using.

Mick

As you have not had my experience with Vista over the last 9 months and do not know how much knowledge I have, I respectfully suggest that you are commenting on something you know nothing about.

Regarding your first statement, Vista came preinstalled on a new system.

A good operating system should not require much knowledge - it should allow people to get on with doing their own job and not get in their way. Vista required acquiring a lot of experience and knowledge to disable its intrusive default 'features'.
