Thanks. Tried your suggestion and thought it was going to work - they all
disappeared and I synchronised - but there are still no posts between 28th
March and 12th April.

pick up messages between 28th March when it stopped and 12th April when

If you're using Outlook Express, right click on 'uk.rec.naturist', then
'properties'. Select 'reset' from the "local file' tab, which will delete
all the group content on your computer. You should then be able to
download all the messages that are on your isp's server by synchronizing.

Hopefully, the messages you've missed are on the server.......
