Many fear ridicule, but I think it is mostly imagined.

Imagination? Fear? Both are unquantifiable, and extremely
subjective. IMO it is dangerous to extrapolate one's own
experience, attitudes, prejudices (or absence thereof) onto
others.

But those who fear ridicule without having actually suffered it are
extrapolating their own prejudices are they not,in that they are advicating
a secretive approach to naturism? An approach which always keeps it in the
closet and perpertuates the secrecy, and the likelyhood of ridicule, and
therefore the fear of exposure.
