first off all well done you for riding naked in Cambridge a man who DOES put
his money where his mouth is.

There are far too many people in this world who are prepared to mouth-off about things
but are not actually prepared to do anything. However, I dont actually think that
naked cycling in city centres does us much good; what we ought to be doing is fighting
for the beaches and the saunas and for equal access to public facilities. Going naked
in city centres does however offer the opportunity to (loosely) measure the level of
acceptence or opposition that exists. From my own experience that ratio runs at about
100:1 amongst the general public and 1:100 for anyone in a position of authority. What
I would like to know is why such a difference exists.

I do not think that keeping being a naturist to oneself is keeping it in the
dark ages though, if asked about holidays we openly say if we have been on a
naturist holiday, but do not walk around work preaching the word or with a
badge on my arm. Likewise some who are devout Christians do not find it
necessary to walk around preaching the gospel.

The fact is that if people don't know that naturism exists, or if it does exist it is
only a pursuit of of sexual deviants, oddballs, and lonely old men looking for a bit
of spice in their lives, they will not be prepared to view it with much credibility.
However, if naturism was known to be something which was widely practiced quite openly
by all types of people, normal people, neighbours, frends, relatives and the like, and
including respected pillars of the community, then societies attitude would change so
that we would encounter less of the prejudice that we often do.

people want to be what they are, if they enjoy home naturism, club
naturism, beach naturism or just going nude on holiday, then that is their
choice, they do not find the need to tell people about it or shout it out or
go naked through the streets, that is not what naturism is about. To me and
many others we just do it because we enjoy it.

All of us have to face up to the question of, "do we tell people or not?" There is no
middle ground here. While we might not shout from the rooftops that we are naturists,
when conversation comes around to "The Club" "The Holiday" or "The Beach" if we fail
to mention when questioned, the subject of naturism then we are in effect beginning to
harbour our little secret. Again, from experience I have found that it is far easier
to be open from the start, than it is to create a web of lies caused by failing to
mention it.
