<From John to Andy>
Andy, a little bit selfish of you to say that, some people, for their own
reasons do not wish it to be public knowledge that they are naturists!, do
you not think their views and wishes must be respected
Yes I do think that their views on this should be respected, but I do not think that
this secrecy angle should be the default as it suggests that there is in fact
something to be secret about.
It is not in many cases a case of secretism (cant find the correct spelling
for this word) as you call it. Personal feelings and views must be taken
into account, I find some your comments such as unfounded and irrational a
little insulting to say the least.
In this respect, I cannot really see the difference between naturism and other aspect
of ones life. Sure, you may not want to wear your naturism on your sleeve, which is
the same as with other aspect of life. But that is entirely different to secrecy.
If you want the world to know you are a naturist then well done and good
luck. But! if some do not wish to publicise the fact then that is their
right, and they do not deserve to be called irrational or be accused of
unfounded worries.
You seem to equating "keeping secret" to "not publicising"
Just think by your comments some prospective new naturists may now not wish
to join or at least try naturism because bigots such as your self make
remarks like you have
Perhaps, perhaps not. But I doubt very much whether anyone would be "put off" naturism
because someone posted something on the Internet which suggested that some naturists
have an irrational fear of being found out. OTOH it might give encouragement to
would-be or existing naturists who were unsure about being open and honest with their
freinds and family about what they get up to.
Its not about secretes as you put it but down to people person views and
what they want.
Which is?
We will look forward to seeing you put your money where your mouth is, why
not join Richard Collins in a naked bike ride around Cambridge or join Steve
Gough on a walk, that way all the world would know you are a naturist which
is what you seem to preach
Err, been there and done it. I have done enough naked cycling around Cambridge City
Centre thank-you-very-much. Had a picnic, had a swim in the Cam, even stopped to chat
to a couple of police officers who let us on our way.
Please Andy, remember we are all individuals and have our own ways of doing
things
Please Bertie, remember, secretism is keeping us stuck in the past, as a secret cult
we get no voice and will be walked over by anyone who opposes us.
