We did try to get other naturist organisations to join in with us at
Birmingham, and wrote to all the EU naturist organisations but had no
positive replies.

It's understandable that naturist organisations do not want to invest in
expensive
publicity shows where the vast majority of the visitors will have little
or no
interest, and the profit made from those who are interested is somewhat
minimal.

That would have helped defray the costs. As to
manning, we did advertise for people to help, but it all comes down to
the fact that many were at work, and a vast majority of others were not
in a position to help as it would have been possible that they would
have been seen and recognised by people they knew.

Perhaps if BN were to offer an incentive to those who are prepared to help
out, they
might find a few more volunteers.

Many people are
still not happy that others know they are naturists. This is why we had
to use people who were happy to be seen, and that usually meant people
from distances.

This idea that naturists are not happy about others knowing is self
perpetuating. You
and I both know that this fear of being found-out is unfounded, irrational
and any
repercussion for being found-out is minimal if not non-existent, but BN
still supports
and respects the idea that secretism is important to its members. Members
then adopt
that idea and BN and clubs promote the idea, so on it goes.

<From John to Andy>

Andy, a little bit selfish of you to say that, some people, for their own
reasons do not wish it to be public knowledge that they are naturists!, do
you not think their views and wishes must be respected

It is not in many cases a case of secretism (cant find the correct spelling
for this word) as you call it. Personal feelings and views must be taken
into account, I find some your comments such as unfounded and irrational a
little insulting to say the least.

If you want the world to know you are a naturist then well done and good
luck. But! if some do not wish to publicise the fact then that is their
right, and they do not deserve to be called irrational or be accused of
unfounded worries.

Just think by your comments some prospective new naturists may now not wish
to join or at least try naturism because bigots such as your self make
remarks like you have

Its not about secretes as you put it but down to people person views and
what they want.

We will look forward to seeing you put your money where your mouth is, why
not join Richard Collins in a naked bike ride around Cambridge or join Steve
Gough on a walk, that way all the world would know you are a naturist which
is what you seem to preach
Please Andy, remember we are all individuals and have our own ways of doing
things

Best wishes
John
