We did try to get other naturist organisations to join in with us at
Birmingham, and wrote to all the EU naturist organisations but had no
positive replies. That would have helped defray the costs. As to
manning, we did advertise for people to help, but it all comes down to
the fact that many were at work, and a vast majority of others were not
in a position to help as it would have been possible that they would
have been seen and recognised by people they knew. Many people are
still not happy that others know they are naturists. This is why we had
to use people who were happy to be seen, and that usually meant people
from distances.
