In the process, I found a (fixed-width) table which isn't quite wide enough, and a whole load of links which are of the "click here" variety, but the discredited wording has been replaced by "More info" Frankly, the line spacing in these tables is such that it is not easy to see which entry one is clicking for "More info" on. I can't see why the entry itself can't be the link.
Where's that?
Here is one example, in the Clubs section. http://www.british-naturism.org.uk/clubs/clubs.asp?region_ID=21
I'd be amazed if Tim found that difficult to use: to me it's perfectly easy and intuitive. As for being 'not quite wide enough', I see that the text in column 1 for 'Sharnbrook near Bedford' wraps nicely within its cell.
But then maybe Tim is using a different browser to/from/than me/I.
Having said that, one often finds that non-technical users (I would not count Tim in that description) do not see things in the way a programmer would. I help maintain concert listings for a choir on a number of 3rd-party web sites. The secretary of the choir complained that she couldn't enter pricing details into the form set up for that purpose on one site: when she entered (say) £10 she got an incomprehensible error message. When I looked at the form, I thought 'these are probably numeric fields, so I'll just enter the amount without any pound sign': sure enough, it worked perfectly. That's not a criticism of the user, but a comment on the need for us programmers to put aside our technical assumptions when designing screens for users to use.
