Dunno about Iphone, but I'll bet there is, so you then wouldn't need a sepearte GPSr. Briefly: One person hides box, logs coords, posts them on web. Other people look for it. It can be a bit of fun, some take it far, far too seriously.

For iPhone you can get a Groundspeak app for £6.99 but GPS use will scoff your phone battery, so a hand-held GPS device is advised as the batteries last longer and you learn how to use it:) ...
