Heal me

I recently tried a cheapo (10 notes) upgrade on my DL1000 - reducing
the front sprocket from 17T to 16T. The bike seems to be improved so
I'd like to keep it that way. The problem is the speedo, which is now
about 14 or 15% out. I can manage the maths in my head but it's
annoying and will only get worse when I go abroad. Of course, my
mileage is going to be 15% higher too. I also suspect that, since the
bike is limited to 130mph, I will not be able to get more than 110 out
of it in real money.
Does anybody know of a relatively simple fix? I've seen thge adverts
for Speedo Healer and SpeedoDRD. They seem good but make my 10 quid
upgrade into 100. I can see why these devices cost money - they are
programmable for every percentage error and will convert miles to km
for you. I just want -14%. Is it possible with a resistor (in the way
we used to calibrate ballistic galvanometers)?
