Whatever. Kiwi were painting plastic helmets over 20 years ago, and I
imagine that materials have moved on since then, never mind since the
mid-1970s.
The paint used in poly and thermoplastic helmet production is not the
same as common or garden car body repair paint. Polycarb and
Thermoplastic helmets can still be adversly affected by using the wrong
paint or the adhesive on the majority of stickers
that's what i was afriad of,
the adeshive used on the oracal 651 vinyl which i have the most of is "Solvent polyacrylate" if that means anything to anyone.
The safety *** for the stuff mentions no known reactions with any material it's applied to... BUT, i did find elsewhere on their site a mention of problems with polycarbonate products and vinyl's (any vinyl, not just their own)
Something about polycarbonate outgassing and causes bubbles to form under the vinyl,
the solution is to bake the polycarbonate object at 300 degrees (F i guess, it's american stuff) for 20 mins, then apply the vinyl once it's cooled,
dont think putting a lid in the oven at gas mark 6 for 20 mins is a good thing to do.
