The driving conditions on the M20 were among the worst I've ever

Shitloads of snow, big winds, cold air temp meaning it settled very
fast.

Interestingly, I saw very little stupid driving

What, not even from you?

heh. Once I realised L wasn't in the slightest bit worried I did give a
demonstration of the various ways one can get a car to change direction
and speed ... her fave is the "T-junction-handbrake-and-slide-it-til-
it's-facing-in-the-right-direction-then-boot-it" option. I pissed about
a bit, yes ... I *love* snow driving - it's a sort of adult's "let's
make a snowman!" moment. We were trying to see how long we could get
the traction control light to stay on ... my best was a 3 mile section
of the M20, uphill.

Oh and there was one (and only one, amazingly) chap on the A20 in a
Volvo who started off trying to drive too close - I don't think he
realised how little traction there was. A brief burst of faux-panic
braking on my part (on a downhill section, where I had enough space to
get out of his way had he lost it), together with a deliberate "oh no
I've lost control!" faked slide from me cause him to lose control for
about 100 metres, bouncing off the kerb, before the electronics finally
got a handle on it, after which he kept *right* back. But overall I was
amazed how sensible people were being ... the last time I drove in those
sorts of conditions in the UK, about 20 years ago, I was out and about
in an Audi Quattro and I lost count of the number of idiots who overtook
me going backwards.
