We got our first egg today.
Can I just say that chickens are fucking fantastic, and everyone should
have at least two.
Agreed. Hours of entertainment. And we're getting two eggs a day, even
in the depths of winter.
We watched ours see off two rooks that had the temerity to land in our
garden and try to nick their grub.
They've seen off *all* the neighbourhood cats, as well. That has been
*very* funny to watch. So the Eglu is a success, then?
currently running at £2800 a dozen. Huge success, I'd say.
Heh. Some things can't be measured in purely cash terms. Mrs WUN's pleasure at opening her main pressie was one of those things.
Eglus are marvellous devices. Delia and Nigella[1] are settling in nicely.
Wilf (the new cat) trotted down the garden, did a very large "WTF!?", dropped to the ground with a tail like a bog-brush, and has been trying to figure out how to get at them ever since. I can't *wait* for the day he succeeds.
Stig (the old cat) took a look, appeared to think "Oh ***, chickens", and wandered off to find another mouse to torture.
[1] The one with plump breasts.
