I doubt it. The big flat TVs are cheaper than smaller monitors already -
and no higher resolution. 1080p's 1920x1080, and very few monitors go
higher than that.

It's to do with market segmentation. The only people buying big monitors
with no sound or tuner are people doing installation work - the displays
at Waterloo station, for instance. It's no wonder they can charge silly
money for it.

There is an economy of scale factor as well, of course.
