I rather not travel several miles to get my demo disks produced and was

I already have:
1) Cakewalk Guitar Tracks Pro [1] installed on my laptop.
2) Crappy built in sound card.
3) Lots of enthusiasm.
4) Quite a few leads.
5) Non digital mixing desks.
I assume I need some sort of multi-input device or do can I just use the
output of my mixing desk straight into the" mic" input on my PC?
Does anyone have any ideas? [2]
[1] Don't really understand it
[2] It has to be a Pikey Solution.
If you want to test drive a very good and cheap option, go to
http://reaper.fm/ and download Reaper.
I do sound at local venues here and use this
http://www.behringer.com/UCA202/?lang=ENG
to record to my laptop, with amazingly good results, especially for
the price. Hook that up to the output of your Mackie and go for it.
That could be just what I need. I'll buy one and give it a try. It doesn't
need to studio quality. I could also plug my PC into the mixing desk for
live recording. at just over 20 squids it's worth a go. Thanks for that, I
wouldn't have found it in a million years.
