I always have wanted a 900SS, but that looks tempting.
Approximately where in the country is it? And what do you know about the
service history?
I've got a 97 750ss, and love it. I even went out last Monday night at
7pm for a 20 mile trip to a meeting, with the temp at -3 degrees. And
thats with the choice of my car and works van outside if I wanted to
keep warm.
When I was looking for mine, I tended toward the 900ss, but was put off
it by a few people - apparently they are not a great deal more powerful
than the 750,cost a little more, and have the clattering dry clutch,
which would irritate me all the time. Power isnt an issue to me, as I
never take it to the limit with the 750, so more cubes are wasted on me.
I can definitely say it has been my favourite bike of the 20 or so I
have owned. I thought of changing it for a big Guzzi last year, but then
took it for a good day out, and I changed my mind.
It is so flickable, and just so easy to ride. The (slight) downside is
the light weight of it - in crosswinds it really gets chucked about.
Alan.
