Wireless networking and sound both non-functional. A reasonable amount of Googling and dicking around produces no better result.
I've given up (again) and am busy running Norton Ghost to recover the laptop back to a working (Windows) OS.
Frankly, if you can't be arsed with the hassle, you'd be as well to just stick with Windows.

And *that's* why Windows is the OS of choice for most people, and Linux isn't.
I use both but Mint is becoming my OS of choice, mainly because it's much quicker at startup.
I may have a go at mint, just for a laugh sometime.
