Why? The seller might just be a bit thick and failed to HPI the bike before
buying it.

As Bonwick says, in the sub £1500 price range, if it looks okay and works
then it's likely to be as good as any other POS in that price bracket. You
could buy a £1500 bike with an impeccable provenance and need a new engine
after 500 miles.

heh, my bandit 600 was sub £1500 (if counting the trade-in of the
gladly-forgotten GN125).

Having said that, it does need an exhaust repair (will be sending the
exhaust and header pipes (once I can get the fucking header bolts
loosened) off to bandit-mania.co.uk to get re-joined), and also had
big problems with not firing on all cylinders (which was definitely
(as far as I can tell) fixed. I guess you get what you pay for in the
price bracket.

Oh well. I have put about 3k miles on it in about 4 months and love
the bike to bits, but even if you get a good bike at £1.5k you aint
buying a pristine bike! (even less pristine now - dropped it within
about 4 hours of buying it.... :(
