It most definitely has *not* always been this way. I used to flog load of stuff with an "optomistic" BIN price and allow bids too. Often I would have bids come in, then somebody would decide not to risk it and buy it early with BIN. I saw it had changed about 4 months ago when I tried to sell something with a BIN price. It pissed me off that I had to pay an extra listing fee to use BIN, then find the fucker disappeared the moment some muppet put a 99p bid on.


Are you not becoming a bit confused with the change to the £50 minimum reserve?

It used to be that you could put a reserve on anything and the BIN stayed until the reserve was met. Now the minimum reserve is £50 so it's not possible for cheaper items.

I've been selling on ebay since about 1999 and the current BIN situation has been this way for as long as I can remember.
