Oh yes, been there, and if it is the same, it would be a usual day.
Many years ago, it was a reasonably nice day out, train out at
8:30am, leave around 6pm.Have a good walk round, sit in a beach
front cafe, sit in a pub garden for dinner and a few pints, go on
the fair, then it would be time to walk back to the station.
It changed for the worse around 10 years ago.
Scum bags started taking over, and it was common to hear foul
language everywhere, kids running wild, youths drunk at 1pm, chip
trails along the street.
The last time we went, we vowed to never go again, as it was just too
rough - 'the worst council estate in the Country, by the sea'.

I think the same could be said for many 'old' holiday destinations.
Isnt Hastings rather down at heel now?
I know Great Yarmouth is going downhill, we went a few years ago, and
were surprised at the poor condition of many sea front buildings.
