There's also cross-platform issues. Yer average windoze programmer hasn't a clue about other platforms. Probably not *such* an issue these days, but has to be taken into account. I don't suppose most of the bods responding to this thread are involved in cross-platform development, so won't have a clue what i'm on about.

All that matters these days, in large-scale environments, is "does it work?"

I remember the old CEO of Network Associates saying (shortly after they took us over) "If it don't (sic) blue-screen - ship it!"

One of the reasons so many quality people left. I personally stayed on for the cash (there's actually loads more to it than that, but...).
