I've had a good think about this and it DOES work. It should be
interesting to see which side of the argument folk come down on.
Hint: there are multiple people who have actually built such craft
and demonstrated that it does work, a short session with google
will turn them up.
I may not be the brightest, but even I won't argue that something that
has been built and works is impossible :-)
OTOH something of which one experimental design was built and is now
languishing in a boatyard in Scotland doesn't sound to me like
something that worked.
To put it another way, if it really worked, why aren't there any more
of them? I still don't think it could.
Agree.
There are more photo's of the Loch Ness Monster than working upwind
windmill boats and Jacque Cousteu's windmill ship web site
specifically says the wind has to be in the right direction.
I don't think the paucity of them proves they don't work but it's far
from proof they do work.
