Is it easily possible to change bikes on the trip? I mean that I booked
the trip with my ratbike's reg number but if I'm to stand a chance of
taking at least some sort of luggage, I'll need to take a bike with a
back-end on it and these reg numbers will obviously be different.

I don't think it's ever been an issue.

I'm taking a different bike to the one I told TOG about, so when I
arrive at check in I'll just give P&O the new registration number and
they'll update their record then print the ticket.
