Re: Paging Cab, Ace, and any other french residents

Depends who you're talking about.

If the cap fits... but really, the French attitude to work is
appalling, don't you find? You've agreed (with darsy, IIRC) in the
past about their morning culture, such that meetings scheduled to
start before 10 won't happen, or not with full attendance and on time.
And AIUI they'll generally still insist on a long lunchtime and don't
tend to stay in the office until 8 to make up for the lost time.

France isn't the UK or the United States. Saying that a nation's
'attitude is appalling' because it is different from your own, is
ludicrous.

Work isn't the be all and end all. France's attitude seems to me (and
I'll admit that I'm biased) far healthier than the anglo world's.

And the very fact that it's so difficult to fire someone is hardly
designed to engender positive working practices, is it?

The same sort of inane comment that had otherwise intelligent people
lambasting Arthur Scargill. The protections that you enjoy today came
about because of union pressure. You think that if the bosses had their
way, you'd not be paid a pound an hour and have Christmas Day off, and
that's it ?

heh. I think he could be the "French Thatcher"

French Thatcher? Not far off. He's a fucking danger to the public.

Great. I like him already.

I can see the Banlieue kicking off again big style and that *** really
fucking it up. <fx: thinks> I hope he does, then he'd be out on his
arse.

I'm surprised the French public have so readily forgiven him for the
last fiasco, b

It wasn't his idea: it was de Villepin's.
