That's not a bad idea, as it goes. I could just make sure that I have
my UK docs on me and pretend not to speak French. :-)
Heh, one of our lot tried that on the autostrada, after getting stopped
by the Carabinieri [1] for way too excessive speed (even for Italy). He
tried the shrug, and the 'Mi dispiache, non parlo italiano", to which
the rozzer said, "That's ok, I speak perfect English, ... now .... !"
