Tesco were doing Gallo White Grenache for £3.98 a bottle, yesterday.

And very nice it was too... <hic>

That sounds like wine.

I don't do wine.

A sound fiscal choice. It comes to about £48 per litre of ethanol,
the same as the Greene King. Spirits are nearly as bad at about £40
but the wise drinker chooses strong cider at about £12 per litre of
ethanol.
Diamond White - YKIMS.

Can one not just buy the ethanol? and be done with all farking about?

I'm sure it can be procured from model shops.

But will it taste as good??

"It'll make you go blind"

That seems to be the problem with a number of things! ;o)

I've had distilled Saki once, and also some sort of moonshine made from
vineleaves when I was in deepest, darkest Spain (Pontevedra). Both were
bloody disgusting. Nigh lost me lunch on both occasions!
