Right, on the plate it says:

"1.5 KVA 110v powertool transformer 2x16A sockets
P15/2
240v input 50Hz
centre tapped to earth
intermittant duty 5 min on/15 min off
waterproof to ip44
rated max. ambient temp.20 degC"

Oh, and why would I want to keep it? Do you think it might actually
come in handy one day?!

Are you kidding? I've had one for years and it's used for all sorts
of tools that are easier to get if they're Merkin. I've got drill,
angle grinders, high power lamps, infra red heaters all on 110v and
the extension leads for those things are longer than my fucking
memory.

You forgot to notice the duty cycle; 5 mins on and 15 off is very crap.
I reckon it's next to worthless.

Well I have to confess that I didn't know about the duty cycle, but so far,
my tranny's held up to the abuse and has done for years. Maybe mine's an old
"non restricted" type though as I also run a plastic welder from the 110
supply and that requires sitting powered up for 10 minutes to get hot before
I even attempt any welding.

New stuff may be totally different.
