Odd to think that Champ lapped at the same speed as Pickrell.

Considering that I was on a bike with better handling, better tyres,
better brakes and *way* more power, and riding a circuit which was
considerably less bumpy, and in some places wider and straighter, I
think the word should be "humbling".

heh. I still recall your wide-eyed admiration in describing the average
speed set by yourself, and the winner of the Classic Manx at the time
(Castle Combe maybe, when we went to cheer on Ant?) ...

"You think to yourself: "he did *that* ... on *THAT??!!""

Or, as a 250 & 500 proddie racing mate once said, a *long* time ago: "I
wouldn't trust those bags of *** to get me to the shops and back, let
alone do it at any real speed. People were a lot dafter then".
