I'd say "Atrocity Archives" and the Family serie (though I've not read
those) are aimed a teenagers. "Iron Sunrise" and its sequel, probably
not.

Hmmm.

Thinking about it, he's a little patchy; he's not a bad author
(Accelerando is good) but the end of Iron Sunrise is appalling.

I assumed Iron Sunrise was to be read the whole way through as a
spoof. The sequel's much better, though I'm fucked if I can remember
the name of it.

I have Atrocity Archives if you want to borrow it, it's hard to get
hold of in the UK; I sourced it from the US.

As a critic my main complaint would be a lack of depth/detail - the
main characters and plots aren't two dimensional, as such, but are
painted with a very broad brush and tend to cliche.

Perhaps 'teenager' is the wrong group, 'undemanding' might be better.

I'd agree.

I also just wish Wil McCarthy would write some more books, as he's
possibly my favourite hard SF writer of recent years.
