If they don't want to work on Sundays, then that's their prerogative.

It's a remote island community and if they want to keep it mono cultural
and maintain SO then I have no problem with that. Head to France and you
find most places closed on a Sunday. I'd be quite happy to see retailers
here required to close once again, despite the spurious arguments it's
rather *** for the employees.

Depends on the employees and market sector. Back when I was a
supermarket chimp, the Sunday shift was almost exclusively staffed by
students who were more than happy do it. A tenner an hour to sit on my
arse and wave things at a barcode scanner?
The only non-students were whoever was supervising checkouts that day,
and management. And I had no sympathy for the managers, esp. the
Alfa-driving ones.

I've no issue at all with places being open on Sundays, so long as they
pay enough to make it worthwhile for the employees. Not everybody
*wants* to spend time with their family at the weekend.
