The message <43f375a3$0$27792$6d36acad@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>
from "Greybeard" <daz@xxxxxxxxxxx> contains these words:

Just got an email back from the nice techies at Canon, and the gist is,
no
chance!

<quote>
"The overhead light source on the MP760 is only designed for 35mm
negatives
or transparencies. The focus and aperture of the lamp will unfortunately
not be able to accommodate larger format sizes. The calibration of the
multi
image firmware within the scanner assembly will also be a problem as the
overhead lamp will only power up in negative/transparency mode and
again, is
only calibrated for 35mm media."

</quote>

Get a HP one then.

So it looks as I'm not going to be able to help there after all.

I will however, try & see if I can trick it into working in some
fashion and
get back if it does.

If you don't manage it, I'll have a go. My HP Scanjet 6250C does a
reasonable job - a scanned 35mm neg makes a bmp file of about 6,000 KB,
so it'll enlarge pretty well for the size of your neg.

Sounds like a plan.
