<shrug>
- I installed some Acer Centrino laptops + netgear kit in 2 clients, both
sites worked fine, but one called me over the hols to report one of the
laptops won't play anymore.

SWMBO bought one of these:

and I had a D-Link PCMCIA card lying around which worked with the Netgear
router - twice - after a lot of faffing around - then stopped connecting. I
put in a Safecom cheap-as-chips card and it picked up straight away.

Another client had a Linksys router and I installed a Netgear Ethernet/Wifi
adapter and the Linksys wouldn't play with it - I put in a Netgear router
instead and it worked.

I've installed 5 Acer laptops in November (from Ebuyer) and they look to be
very good quality kit - the Aspire 1652WLMi is wide screen, 60Gb HDD, 512Mb
+ DVD-RW drive for around £588+VAT
