We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember "Timo Geusch"
<tnewsSPAMMENOT@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> saying something like:

The High Street opticians' markup on lenses and frames is incredible.
Take into account though the necessary overheads of a High Street
location and I can understand their pricing to a certain extent. That
said, a lot of them are greedy cunts who I wouldn't piss on if they were
on fire.
I popped into a lens makers some years back to pick up a parcel and the
bloke running it offered me trade prices on my own lenses if I should
need replacements. £2 the pair, iirc. Frames were/are another total
ripoff; most frames cost around a fiver trade, with expensive ones
coming in at 20-odd.
Contact lenses... 10p / pair. That was for the older hard lenses.
