Patches, lozenges, gum and turkey (cold) didn't, on several occasions.

Not cheap (more than fags unless you're 25+ a day) but you can get them on
prescription by paying a visit to your friendly, local smoking cessation
place (nearest pharmacist probably). And that also helped, because it was
another person to let down...

Mind you, I now have a nasal spray addiction problem, but it's got to be
better than fags....
