I know I'm biased but some kids will enjoy a ride on the tube if they've
never been on one before.

Perhaps a better option is a ride from Bank to Greenwich on the DLR. You
get to see the view from the front in the tunnels and then Docklands and
skyscrapers and there is the river and Cutty Sark et al at Greenwich. If
the weather's good then you have a picnic at Greenwich in the park.
Don't know if they still have the guides on the trains but you get a
running commentary on the sights from the train as you travel along.

Thinking a bit more about the subject there is always the London
Transport Museum at Covent Garden but be quick - it's closing for refurb
in a couple of weeks. You can drive a train and be a signalman. A very
popular choice with families and schools for a visit.
