If you got it for next-to-nothing you might make a business out of it, but I can't imagine individuals paying the huge hourly amounts it would need to turn a reasonable profit. They ought to donate it to the Vulcan project - probably enough of the right sorts of engineers to get it going, and possibly it might make them some money... but then I'm guessing they probably paid a fair bit more than they should have in the first place and have to recover it.

I think you're missing the point that (AFAICS) it's not a full-motion simulator.

The "experience" could be recreated with a few LCD displays with suitable graphics cards, a decent PC and a decent flight simulator for a *lot* less money. Probably less than two grand. A few quid more to get some instruments hooked up (if you felt that was important) and some control (I think you'd want to do that) and I bet you could fully reproduce the interior look and feel for less than three grand, with a lot less hassle than re-commissioning that piece of crap.

I firmly predict that the subject of the auction will never work again and will eventually get quietly scrapped for fourpence.
