Re: AD: Windows, doors and much more...

Dear All -

Many thanks for the constructive criticism - particulalry with regard
to the missing product details - too close to see the problem!

The models are supplied on adhesive-backed paper, with each layer of
the prototype (window, door etc) the subject of a separate drawing.
There are two obvious advantages - first the window/door achieves a
'scale' 3-D appearance often lacking in model form. Secondly - the
fact that they are computer-generated means that all will be identical
- I first hit on this solution when I realised I needed about 50
identical windows ('Crittall-type' industrial windows) for a brewery
building. Whilst these are availalbe through the 'trade' as plastic
mouldings (if I wanted to use their sizes...) those mouldings are
often 'over scale'. Using a good craft knife (see the 'hints 'n tips
section which should be uploaded by tommorrow), I can get the glazing
bars down to less than 0.5mm wide....

With regard to uploading images of the model v the prototype - that's
in hand!

Once again my thanks for your comments

Ian,

I visited your site as I am in the market for a fair number of windows
in the near future but could find no detail of your product with
regard to their construction. Are you selling etchings, plastic
components or what. Perhaps I haven't clicked onto the right page
yet :-( As I assume that you are about to become another 'cottage
industry' manufacturer may I wish you all the best with your endevour,
it's nice to see someone starting up rather than withdrawing from the
marketplace.
