Got fed up with trying to stop kit built lnwr cauliflower from
derailing
on curve (2nd radius). Perhaps should have used a slimmer motor and
driven
of rear wheels cos centre drivers have no lateral movement at all.
Anyway filed centre drivers to be flangeless - is this a crime.
Second radius is ok for train sets, not for a model railway (VBG) use!
;-)
Design your (HO) models properly and they will go around such curves
without problems. Then limit such curves to hidden areas.
Of course that doesn't apply to loose coupled wagons being shunted. ;-)

Its an OO kit. Probably nothing wrong with the design but its only my second
attempt at assembling a chassis. I didnt use the recommended motor/gears cos
didnt know what they were till I got the kit.
When have been playing as long as certain experts then maybe will do
better - doubt it though as have poor connections between hands and brain.
Also in too much of a hurry.
Don't worry too much. The mistakes will teach you far more than getting
it right first time :-)
The rule is: 'fit the biggest motor that will go in'.
Next rule: 'DCC no flywheel - DC the biggest flywheel that will fit in.'
Next rule: 'when you compromise on motor size stay with the largest
diameter armature practical' Shorter isn't as much of a compromise.
Next rule: 'forget coreless motors unless you're really really tight for
space'. A high quality can motor does everything we need for a model
loco.
Next rule: 'don't buy cheap motors for locos'.
Next: 'buy good quality gears and gearbox'.
