Noticed over the last few months his mane was getting rather thin, and
now his tail seems to be going the same way.  I took some photos today
so thought I would bath him and basically there is hardly any tail to
wash and his mane is just plane thin

he seems ok in himslef just the lack of hair?

Has he any other signs such as scabs or sore patches indicating he has
rubbed himself. Sweet itch could be a cause to consider although there
are lots of others such as lice or skin complaints.

Not really, its only recently

But I will be honest with you guys and its not something that the end
result surprises me

In the first place I moved to Staffs, left Pointer at my Yard in
yorkshire so only saw him at weekend. My ex hubby tried to sell him
from under my nose so in an emergency moved him from yorks to Staffs.
Got him to Staffs and he had a reaction to a wormer and got the vet
out to sort, I was deeply upset about the whole thing. Moved him
quickly to a place I was not happy about, then moved again. I feel so
desperately bad, but I needed Pointer to be with me as I was going
through a seriously bad time and hubby then bogged off with someone
else

pointer was a constant, and we stuck ny each other. Over three years
he kept havng reactions to wormers and I was in dispair, then of
course had my accident and could not look afer him and ended up going
back to Yorkshire, 6 months later he followed and we are together
again

I do feel bad but I did the best I could, and I will be honest and I
do cry for him, and I hug him in the field and we talk and exchange
those precious moments he is so special. All I want to do is what is
right and to see the hair fall from him I feel so guilty, as though
its all my fault

Like today I took some wonderful photos of him and when I saw them it
was as though all he wanted to be was close to me, he kept coming back
to me with the camera, and his ear was always cocked in my direction,
I ended up giving up.
