Really? Thats interesting, I do live on top of a hill, that must be it...!
I binned it this morning, it was like a brick, the sugar from the
marshmallow had caramelised (didn't know I coud do that, but thats a side
issue). Anyhow, will try the fairy cakes today and see what happens, if not
think I will not bother. I shall go back to trying to cook as opposed to
bake.

It does taste as bad as it looks, quite rubbery and on the edge god knows
what that is, think its the sugar from the marshmallow, tried to bash it
with the rolling pin, but it wont break off.
Think the bin is going to get it

O M G its now the size of a triffid, I may have to turn the oven off,
it did say 5oz of marshmallows, I cut them into small pieces, but
they
have expanded to ver 70% of their original size!

Have you ever tried chopping marshmallows, that took the longest,
the
bugger stick everywhere
lots of icing sugar - dries them off

hi Julie
Same thing happened to me yesterday! -I make all our cookies and
cakes from scratch, but getting self-rising flour here is very
difficult to i tried to make some fairy cakes with baking powder and
plain flour - they looked great going into the oven - 'cept instead of
rising they kinda imploded and came out the oven looking like moon
craters - no. chocolate yorkshire puddings LOL! -made some bread and
it was fantastic though. Its very hitty missy here - none of my uk
baking recipes work and found out recently its cos we are 2500 ft
above sea level - this effects all sorts of things including how fast
water boils and oven temperature - yep you learn something new every
day LOL! -
At least my 'bird cakes' ( bird seed and bacon fat ) are going down
well with the local bird population - they would'nt look at my fairy
cakes though LOL!
