Re: Hay or ???

jill asked:

<How many have you spoken to in the past 5 years?>

none,
If I had a problem with my horses condition or performance, I would consult
a vet., not someone whose sole purpose is to flog me their products ;-)

<Go and phone them>

No Jill, I specifically said I doubted the feed was anything but
unbalanced - but as the base product ie alfalfa is so utterley unbalanced
for feeding to horses it would be (hypothetically) interesting to know how
they balance it. what worries me is they actually advertise you can use alfa
a as a replacement for hay Quote:If good grazing is unavailable and you are
feeding Alfa-A Original as the sole feed, use a broad-spectrum vitamin and
mineral supplement, such as Dengie Optimum. - scary................

<I am as great a sceptic as you but I have spoken to a lot of feed
manufacturers now and you "can" tell which ones are talking tosh and which
aren't>

I can appreciate that - you are an experienced horse/animal person. I am not
against alfa based feeds, just the fact that they should not be hailed as
the new 'wonder feed'.
