Sue, think of all the ones you're doing good for, and how you tried to make
his life better.
Remember how a friend and I "rescued" some arabs two years ago? The
mishappen foal, her poor anceint mother, a stunted 3 yo and a 5 yo stallion?
6 months later the 3 yo had to be put down because his immune system
basically packed in and attacked him. He was the arab version of what
you've described, although without the hock & pelvis problems. Both of us
felt terribly guilty that we'd dragged him out that hell hole only to for
him to go through test and illness and be put down. We felt we'd failed
him. But the misshappen foal? now a thriving glorious 2yo, you'd never
know she'd been so malformed. The old lady? A shining veteran, with
dancing eyes and attitude that would make a stallion wilt. and the
stallion? I saw him for the first time in 18 months at the group arab
show - this stunning glorious dancing but totally well behaved beast, who
had eyes only for his rescuer, who avoided her feet while he turned heads
and drew gasps from the crowd. and I watched that poor skinny toes curled
up, scabby animal win the champion stallion and reserve in hand, and I know
we did the right thing, and I'd do it again.
your caring gives lots of other horses the chances that we gave those four.
HUGS.
