Point to Point

Hi there all.
I was hoping that someone on the group has some experience of owning/knowing
someone who owns a point to pointer as part of a syndicate. I have
experience working with p-to-p horses and racing however really do not
understand exactly what is required (paperwork etc) to race. A friend is now
setting up a syndicate and as at the moment I am his secretary LOL (unpaid
obviously) I am trying to get together a projection of the costs for the
members of the syndicate BEFORE buying the horse.
If anyone could help it would be really appreciated.
The main points that I am trying to sort out are;
1) Does the syndicate need to be registered with anyone if so whom (I think
it might be weatherby's?)
2) Is it usual to have a contract for all the members to sign to prevent
anyone backing out and increasing the costs for those left?
Sorry if this is not the place for this but I have been a lurker here for
sometime now you all seem very helpful and friendly and I feel that you all
won't tear me to shreds for not knowing lol
Many Thanks
Kim
