It seems from the web-site that the new Ovi maps *do* include traffic
information, diversions, etc again, all free of charge.
If you want to just have one device, buy an iPhone. It is an ipod,
phone, Satnav, video player, games console, photos, videos, mobile
computer and just about anything else you want to do.
But does it provide free gps mapping and free mapping updates?
The SatNav software was only £26 and comes with maps that look the same as a road atlas. I use it as a GPS for walking and the maps are free for that purpose (MotionX GPS).
As the iPhone will replace all your other electronics, it is fantastic value for money. Only this morning, I watched the latest Star Trek movie on in while in bed. I then opened up a radio app, chose Radio 4 then schedule - I listened to 'Any Questions' from a couple of days ago.
On Sunday, I will use the SatNav software to get me to an RSPB reserve, then switch to the walking GPS mode to walk around the reserve. While there, I will be using the British Birds application to compare birds I hear to the sounds, pictures and video on the iPhone.
I would just never consider a Nokia phone.
