Do you have to prove that you're a moron with every post?
The Tesla offers:
0-60mph 4 secs OR 220 miles between charges OR Top speed 125mph OR
Battery life five years.
A charge taking 16 hours at the standard charge rate or 4 hours at a
staggering 70A consumes 56kWH. If you need to drive anywhere other than
a commute from home to somewhere less than 100 miles away and back again
then you have better get used to the 16 hour recharge. Because nowhere
is going to have the high-current charger available for shared use for
the forseeable future.
To "fill" the Tesla costs £6(ish).
The same vehicle with a petrol engine achieves 52mpg. If petrol were
taxed at the same rate as electricity, it would cost £4.73 to fill for
the same range (18 litres at 25p/litre+VAT). So when the government gets
around to taxing electricity used for cars at the same rate as petrol,
which it will, electric cars are going to be amusingly expensive to
operate.
You're wrong, the Roadster 0-60 spec is as I said: 3.9secs and 244 miles
between charges(check Tesla's site below).
Top Gear got 60-odd miles out of one. Then it went flat. The backup
one broke down.
The Model S has a quick charge of 45mins (albeit not a full charge),
model S 0-60mph 5.9secs and a 300 mile range.
Those are just fantasy figures, like most economy figures for normal
cars are. Marketing bull***.
