I'm thinking of going hi tec. Want a GPS that can be moved from one car

Can anyone give me a quick rundown on the differences between them?
There's some cheap stuff on ebay but do you get what you pay for?

I own a TomTom 720 - noting to compare it with - as this is my first
Sat-Nav.

Being a Map reading instructor, I would just add - all Sat-Navs are
TOOLS only and should never be relied on.

Oh yes, learned this one again last week in Italy....

When used in conjuction with road signes and common sense they are good
navigational aids.

Too true. If you're not really concentrating on the route/signs though,
it can be very easy to just follow it's instructions.

Thanks for all the replies. I'm following them and investigating. One of
the Navman had a really good review then you look elsewhere and they get
slagged off.

Now I've owned this TomTom, if I ever had to replace it for some reason, I
wouldn't even consider changing brands, as I don't see how they could do the
job it does any better than it, so there seems little point in risking it -
as it does exactly what I want and like. Although I'd maybe get a better
model in the range in future, one that had some kind of 'review' or 'log'
feature that would tell me about the journey I had just done, and maybe some
statistics about the average speed, top speed and stuff. That would be all
purely as a novelty, but it would be interesting to see sometimes - and I
know some of the other TomTom units offer features like these.
