There are no rights of way on the road, only priorities and even
these should be given up for safety.

Maybe I've been reading an old highway code. When did it become
pussified?

Your version would read, "Teach other motorists a lesson if they act
irresponsibly"?

but when it became obvious he was
a madman and approaching inches from my car, it was clear I could
either get rammed off the road or slow down. So I slowed down.

Lesson number 1 well and truly learned then.

I abide by that lesson at all time. My safety, and other peoples
safety is paramount. I do yearn for the day however for someone to f***
up,
commit an accident, and (from an insurance perspective at least) be
100% to blame.

You really would be happy to look at your own crumpled car?

Though I say that, human instinct is all about self preservation.

Reaction from this newsgroup? Im a wanker who should hand his
license in as quite clearly, I was racing! I've never known a racer
who just drives normally, slows down to avoid an accident, complain
about a tosser, then get complained at themselves.

What do you expect? You got yourself into a situation because you
didn't take the opportunity to back down and keep safe.

That would be the opportunity I took to back down and keep safe? Is
the fact that I kept safe not enough to prove I kept safe? Is the
fact that I backed down not enough to prove I backed down? Im confused.
Really.

You saw a twat coming but did nothing to stay away - can't you see this?

I had no problem with him being ahead of me, but I did have a
problem with his subsequent brake test!

Why were you driving too close?

No I wasn't. He still brake tested me by slamming on his brakes.

How would that affect you if you weren't too close?

And my problem is what exactly?

Believe it or not, I don't go around looking for accidents or trying
to get involved in them.

By your own admission, you allowed a situation to get out of hand and
compromised your own safety into the bargain.

Umm... no I didn't. I rarely get into situations I can't control.

However the idea that someone could run into, brake testing you,
trying to run you off the road and then YOU get the blame for it, is
IMHO completely and totally 100% wrong.

You weren't blamed for his actions.

Only you were there, so only you know what lessons you can learn.

Never a truer word said.

The lesson I've learned, though I've known it for quite some time, is
that there are some real f***ing c**ts on the road that shouldn't be
there.
And the rest of Britain is too much of a *** to stand up in disgust
and say it's about time we had a fairer Britain and rightly blamed and
prejudiced the aggressor instead of the victim.

You can't do this safely, in a car travelling fast on the road.
