In a matter of life or death, assuming you are saying that such speed is endangering others, is it still right to put innocent lives at risk in order to save one, or are you now saying that speeding is actually OK?



I never said speeding wasn't ok. In this case it was the huge differential between the speed he was doing and what could be reasonably expected by other road users. I don't have a problem with speeding at all (for example, your 85 mph on a clear motorway seems reasonable to be: I'd do the same), but 159? Presumably without blues/sirens? (I don't know, but I do know they are only allowed to use them for emergency response)
