[BMW speed 'limiter' function]

I only tried it a couple of times when I first got my 740 about 5
years back and played with *all* the OBC functions...

So all it does is go "choong!" and flash "Limit 140mph" on the
notification area?

Yep, that's it.

Kinda "Is that all?" isn't it - just tried it today...

I find it more annoying than useful, as it invariable goes off when I
deliberately go faster than I've set it to, such as during an
overtake, when I'm not going to dilly-dally. Half way through the
overtake you get the "choong!" and wonder "what the hell was that?".

I prefer to limit the "choong!"s to important events - frost fuel and
faults is fine.

Still, if you have it, the speed limiter thing looks good on the
NAV/TV screen (it looks like a regular speed limit sign). Just set
it to 155mph and let your friends wonder...

No Nav or TV... :(

...but it's an ALPINA so no tiresome 155 limit either. :)
