Is there a law on the number of people allowed in a car. I have a
five door escort and was wondering if I could get away with 3 adults
and 3 small children but cannot find any information about any
passenger limits.
To answer your question:
Despite what others have claimed you won't be breaking the law
providing all the seatbelts in your vehicle are being used. (Safety
and insurance concerns are something else)
The government's website gives you advice on the best way to "pack"
your car in the case that you have more passengers than seatbelts.

Hope this is helpful.
That deal with wearing seatbelts, now provide info regarding that passengers
must be properly seated.
